RL Golf Construction Ltd is thrilled to announce the successful completion of a bespoke 40m² residential putting green, bringing tour-standard practice facilities directly to a private garden in East Riding.
While our team is well-known for large-scale adventure golf and commercial projects, we apply the same rigorous construction standards to our "At Home" installations. For this project, the client required a high-performance surface that would provide realistic ball speeds and accurate feedback for short-game practice.
Technical Specification
To meet the client's exacting standards for realism and durability, we selected the Tour Putt Ultimate system by Easigrass. This premier surface features a 25mm pile height and a specialised "hybrid" design that accepts lofted iron shots and chipping just like a natural green, while still providing a consistent, non-directional roll for putting.

The green is framed by a NylonPro fringe, utilising a 12mm bi-coloured, micro-curled yarn. This not only creates a professional aesthetic definition between the green and the surrounding garden but also offers a realistic "second cut" texture for chipping practice.
Design and Playability
The 40m² footprint was carefully excavated and prepared by the RL Golf Construction team. Unlike flat, "carpet-like" installations, we engineered **light contours** into the sub-base. These subtle undulations mimic the breaks found on a golf course, providing a testing environment for the player.
The installation is finished with 5 professional cup positions and flags, strategically placed to utilise the slopes and offer a variety of putting lines.
This project demonstrates how a compact garden space can be transformed into a year-round, low-maintenance sports facility. The result is a stunning, mud-free green that allows the homeowner to hone their skills regardless of the weather.
